Makes his second successive appearance in The Open and this time on his home course after rounds of 65 and 69 in the Final Qualifying event at West Lancashire on July 4 put him in second place a stroke behind Matt Wallace.

Last summer Jordan returned to the Home of Golf five years after winning the St Andrews Links Trophy, one of the most prestigious titles in the amateur game.

He earned that Open debut by finishing third in Final Qualifying competition at St Annes Old, where only four spots were up for grabs. This time it was five and Jordan again rose to the challenge.

His amateur career also included a Walker Cup cap in 2017 – Collin Morikawa and Will Zalatoris were on the American team, Zalatoris beating Jordan in the first day singles – and a nine-stroke victory at the Lytham Trophy the following season.

His best finish on the DP World Tour was a tie for third at the 2020 Wales Open, where he closed with a 66 to be three behind winner Romain Langasque.
