Eight years after Ben Curtis became the first player since Francis Ouimet in 1913 to win on his debut appearance in a major, Bradley pulled off the same astonishing feat at the 2011 PGA Championship.
Five behind with three holes to play, the nephew of Pat Bradley - winner of six women's majors - stormed back to beat Jason Dufner in a play-off.
It made him the first player to win a major with a long putter and led to a Ryder Cup debut where he won three times with Phil Mickelson. He resumed the partnership in 2014 after a season in which he tied for fourth in both the U.S. Open and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, the event he won in 2012 with a closing 64.
Bradley also played for the United States alongside Mickelson at the 2013 Presidents Cup.
In 2018 he ended more than six years without a victory by beating Justin Rose in a play-off for the BMW Championship, but then went another four years before adding last October’s Zozo Championship.
